Universal Life customers can enjoy additional benefits, such as coverage of the patient's aeroplane ticket cost to travel to Greece for an operation. There is also a 50% subsidy for hotel accomodation prior to and after the operation, provided that the patient selects a hotel from a proposed list which includes 3, 4 and 5 star hotels.

IASO was founded in 1996 in Athens by a group of obstetricians and gynecologists and has since evolved into one of the largest private hospitals in Greece and Europe in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
Over the following decades, it expanded with new clinics such as IASO Children’s Hospital and IASO Thessaly. At the same time, it strengthened its technological infrastructure with pioneering units, including a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 3 Tesla MRI scanner, and modern operating theatres.

Overall, IASO (Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital) has 486 inpatient beds, including beds at IASO, IASO Children’s Hospital, as well as the Adult, Pediatric, and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. In terms of surgical infrastructure, it features 4 fully equipped operating rooms and an additional 6 endoscopy suites for diagnostic or minimally invasive procedures.
In addition, it should be noted that IASO General Clinic (a separate unit within the Group) has 237 beds and 11 operating rooms within its own facilities.
Please contact Universal Life’s Caims Department at least 10 days before the treatment / surgery date and submit the following documents:
Universal Life will inform you before the treatment / surgery date that direct settlement is possible. In this case we will issue a Letter of Guarantee (pre-authorisation), which will be sent directly to all the providers involved in the case. We can also send it to you if you ask us to.
If for any reason Universal Life will not be in a position to pre authorise the direct settlement of the medical expenses we will ask you to settle all outstanding invoices and submit a claim form fully completed and signed as well as all relevant receipts to us for evaluation.
In case of invoices for out-patient treatment, please pay all expenses and submit a claim form fully completed and signed by you and your doctor, as well as payment receipts.
Outside Cyprus we may be able to arrange direct settlement with hospitals outside our network if you ask us before receiving treatment. You must contact us at least 10 days before admission.
Failure to advise us at least 10 days in advance of any daycare or in-patient treatment may mean we are unable to make any direct settlement arrangements on your behalf. We will advise you of whether direct settlement is possible and how much and for how long we will be able to pay for treatment. It is your responsibility to ensure that pre approval has been received before undergoing planned treatment.
