At Universal Life, family care is at the heart of everything we do. As the undisputed leader in Cyprus’s Private Health Insurance sector, we are proud to introduce our initiative “Care Begins at Birth,” offering one newborn each month a full year of free health insurance through the MultiCare International Health Plan.
This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of our policyholders, and a meaningful way to give back the trust they place in us. It also highlights the importance of early preventative care. If a newborn is enrolled as a dependent under their parents’ MultiCare plan within three months of birth, the child receives coverage that includes congenital conditions.
How Participation Works
Participation in the “Care Begins at Birth” initiative is automatic and fully transparent. Each month, newborns registered as dependents under their parents’ policies in the previous month are automatically entered into a draw—no additional action is required from parents. The selected family is contacted directly by phone.
The initiative is exclusively available to parents who have been insured under the MultiCare International Health Plan for at least 12 months prior to the child’s birth, and only if the newborn is registered as a dependent within 3 months of birth.
Developed by Universal Life in collaboration with AXA Global Healthcare, the MultiCare International Health Plan is the best-selling health insurance plan in Cyprus. It offers a range of flexible options tailored to different needs and budgets, along with a host of unique benefits:
Worldwide medical coverage and treatment
Access to a network of over 11,000 doctors and hospitals in Cyprus and abroad with direct claim settlement
Immediate access to premium healthcare services from private providers, with no waiting lists
Coverage for routine and preventative screenings
Second medical opinion service from top-tier specialists
Importantly, MultiCare is the only health plan in Cyprus that offers coverage for congenital health conditions from birth.
